The First Day in Al-Furqon

The first day to go to Al-Furqon, i get nervous when i saw a bunch of new kids. My room is in 8-9 because i’m 9 years old. A teacher came in and said to me, “are you a new student?”. “Yes i am”, i answered back. “okay so lets get started”. First we start what are the rules in Al-Furqon. Meanwhile it was recess. We didn’t play free. We play soccer indoor with our teacher. They said to warm up first before playing. Then we start playing. I play forward. Three kids are defender. And three kids are midfielder. And we start playing.

B 10:45, we had lunch, so we had to go to the lunch room. i got some snacks so buy one. After that we had to pray Zuhur. Meanwhile we got home. it a good day.

Mexico’s Landmarks/place to visit

The capital city of Mexico is Mexico City. Have you ever been to the beautiful building called the Latin American Tower? Well, here are some things that are inside the building: It has offices, restaurants, observation deck, and even an aquarium attraction. The Latin American Tower is located in Mexico City. Another landmark is called the Aztec Pyramid and people around the world visit that pyramid. One thing about Aztec Pyramid, it has 365 steps! wow! one City is called chichen itza, a very old city located 75 miles east of Merida, the capital state of Yucatan, Mexico. What landmark would you want to visit?

Celebrations

Most people in the United States even celebrate Mexican’s celebration. The Day of the Dead is when people honor the dead. It is celebrate on November 1st. They wear cos tumes and bring gifts who have past away.Mexican people also celebrated Christmas on December 14th. Mexican kids get their presents on January 6th instead of Christmas day. Christianity is actually the the religion that is practiced. Holiday comes from catholic traditions. they go to church every Saturday.

I’d like to write my school’s project for Social Studies about Mexico country. I hope you guys enjoy it.

LANGUAGE

Hola? which means hello. In Mexico most people speak Spanish. But don’t worry. Because few people speak English. ‘Gracias’ means thank you. These are some words you need to know: Buenos dias, Buenos norches, Buenos tordes, which means good morning, good night, and good afternoon. Adios means good bye. Nino means boy and nina means girl. Gracias!

FOOD

Mexican food is really popular. One of the most popular food is called Tortilla, and some foods are made of Tortilla. Tacos is a food made of a rolled-up Tortilla. Inside the bread, there’s lot’s of vegetables. Then when it’s ready, the baker will rolled the bread. And thats tacos! Another popular is called Nachos. Nachos is made of tortilla chips, melted cheese, Jalapeno peppers, and black olives. Usually, the cheese is sometimes hot or warm so the Nachos will taste good. Another one is called Chimichangas. Chimichangas are made made from flour tortilla with beans, rice, cheese, beef, or chicken folded in rectangular package and fried. Are you hungry for Mexican food now?

Ethiopia

Do you know about a country called Ethiopia? I knew it from my school library book. Ethiopia is a country in Africa. Kenya lies to the south. Sudan is western of Ethiopia. Somalia is eastern of Ethiopia. And Eritrea is northern of Ethiopia.

The flag has three stripes. The green stripe stands for rich lands and hope. The yellow stripe means religious freedom. the red stripe honors those who died for Ethiopia. A star on a blue background lies in the center of the flag. The color blue represents peace The rays of the star stand for equality. Ethiopia adopted this flag in 1996.

Ethiopia is home to many kinds of animals. Hippopotamuses, crocodiles, and pythons live near rivers. wild pigs, porcupines, and baboons live in the highlands. Rhinos, lion, elephants, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and buffalo live in protected parks and forests.

Soccer is popular sport in Ethiopia. Italian soldiers brought he game to Ethiopia in the 1930s. students join high school teams. They play volleyball, basketball, and soccer.

Having School at ASD is Wonderful

Having school at ASD is wonderful because the school is huge, some friends can play with you, or during recess you can play basket ball or soccer. I even think that ASD is the best school in Qatar.

One day, when I was in the first day of school, there is a boy named Niall who can let me to play basketball and soccer. And there is a boy named Max. We like to play soccer together. I meet other friends in my class and other class.

Another reason having school at ASD is wonderful is because of the library. The library has different kinds of a non-fiction and fiction books. They even have country books that I like it, such as the capital city, the religion, whats the flag means, currency, the land, village life, the foods, animals, sports and games, and celebrations.

To add on, the class I’m attending is really amazing. My teacher Ms. Wilson teaches us very hard on math, science, reading, and writing until we all understand. One day, when we learn about science, she taught about a fun activity about how tuning fork works. On the other day, on social studies, we were enjoying to learn about the compass rose that use in maps.

What I have realized now is that ASD is the best school I ever attended. I have to study very hard and will never let my parents down!

Having a little sister is challenging..

Having a little sister is really difficult because she is so annoying. She bothers me, she hits me, and she takes away my stuff. Sometimes I even wish I didn’t have a sister.

This is my sister and I having fun together at Corniche.

One day, when I was drawing something, she scracthed my drawing book. On the other day, I couldn’t find my HARRY POTTER book. I was looking for it, but finally I found that she’s hidden it in another cupboard for some reason. Some day, when we played a ball together, accidently the ball hits her neck. She hits me back quite hard, and it was hurts!

Another reason, having a little sister is annoying is because of her behavior. She always over excited and singing loudly. That were disturbing my concentration doing my homework. I have asked my mum and dad why it has happened? They said that being a big brother sometimes not easy, and I have to be more patient to always try to tell my little sister how to behave. I also have to give her good examples.

After awhile, I was thinking that my mum and dad were absolutely true. Because recently we had a good time swimming together. She followed me how to practice swimming like I said to her. On the other day, I taught her how to draw properly. She love it very much, and I also happy to see it.

I realized that I am not the only child in my family, and I supposed tp help my mom and dad since I have grown up already. This makes me think that I have more responsible to myself and my family. I should be able to treat my sister as my best friend.

Essay Assignment, Dec 2009 (3F)

School

At school, we have been learning about math. In math we’ve learn that, how to show ways to make 400. After that we had recess and snack Then we have science. In science, we’ve learn about deserts. Everybody have a worksheet write about the deserts. We have to write what continents, countries, plants, weather, climate, and animals too. And then we have reading. In reading, i went to esl, and read a book called Sprak! then we came back to the class and also take the book with it.Also we have to make a summary about a book called Little Witch. Then we have FL. In FL, we learn how to do the word search. After that we have lunch and recess. And then we have another reading. The book was called Giant Desert. We write a summary about that book. After that we had PE. In PE, we learn to play a new game. The rules: We will have 3 students and one of them will be defendors. Then the person who’s on the in the front will have to throw the ball to the person on the back. The runners will be on the side. Then the person on the back will throw the ball to the two persons. And thats it! After that, we also have art. In art were doing about drawing there own countries and they decorated. And we went home!

It is sad that today is my last day at Doha Montessori and British school. I really miss mrs. Bosswell, and everybody in year 3j class.
